KCC HONORS THEIR OWN HEROS!

On April 24, 2009, in the rotunda at Bronx Community College, The Kids' Comic Con gave awards to 11 people for their tireless support of kids, comics, literacy, and the KCC. We are thankful for them, and equally proud to know them.

They were ...

Front row: (left to right) Janna Morishima of Diamond Kids Group; Ali Kokmen, Random House/Del Rey; Calvin Reid, Publisher's Weekly; Fred Mausser (in white shirt & dark jacket), of Archie Comics; Pina Martinelli, of Bronx Community College; Eugene Adams, of Bronx Community College.

(KCC founder Alex Simmons, the jovial gent between Calvin and Fred, presented the awards).

Back row: Mike Pellerito (between Ali and Calvin), of Archie Comics.

(Mike is standing next to Jonathan Goldwater, Co-CEO of Archie Comics.)

Winners not able to attend: Maurice Waters and Yumy Odom, of the East Coast Black Age of Comics Convention; Nick Purpura, of Jim Hanley's Universe; Melanie Fallon-Houska, of Random House Books, Inc; Victor Gorelick, of Archie Comics; and Mary Jo Den-nun, of Bronx Community College.

"WHAT BETTER PLACE FOR KIDS TO SELL COMICS

THAN AT A KIDS' COMIC CON?"

This year the happy-go-lucky, young publisher and her friends from PB & J Production's return with another of their wild and wacky comics, called GEEZERVILLE. So stop by, and buy!
